ARUBA
Every year hundreds of students travel from Aruba to the Netherlands. Enthusiastic, excited, and nervous. In preparation for the big move, some families visit the Netherlands during a holiday or attend presentations at school.
The moment you step through customs at Reina Beatrix Airport, you’re alone. The idea of leaving all you know behind can be terrifying and exciting, all at the same time. A new life awaits.
The thought might have crossed your mind that you didn’t prepare enough or you might worry about who to ask for help.
Some students decide to visit family or friends, and some even opt to stay a couple of weeks, but this is not possible for everyone. And even if you can stay with relatives or family, you will enter a whole different environment.
Fact is: upon arrival at Schiphol Airport a new life awaits, you are alone, and that’s where we jump in. Helping you get around the organized chaos of the Netherlands.

WHY THOUGH???
‘We learn about the Netherlands all our lives, but Dutch people hardly know anything about us’ is something we hear students from Aruba often say. And so true! The Dutch hardly know anything about the amazing island you’ve been calling your home.
The lack of knowledge about Aruba among Dutch people may be due to a variety of factors. One reason could be that Aruba is a relatively small island in the Caribbean, and its culture, history, and geography may not be as widely taught or covered in the Netherlands compared to other countries. Additionally, the geographic distance between Aruba and the Netherlands, as well as the differences in language and cultural context, may contribute to the limited awareness among Dutch people about Aruba. It’s also possible that Aruba may not receive as much media coverage or attention in the Netherlands compared to other destinations, which could result in less familiarity with the island among Dutch people. Nevertheless, it’s important to recognize and appreciate the unique cultural heritage and significance of Aruba as a special part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
It can be challenging, I know! But my experience will give you a peace of mind
